a bank run, but it's just market basket before a snowstorm
Hi!
Thanks for opening this email.

**A little housekeeping - next week I'm going to start sending this newsletter from Substack. If you aren't receiving it or have any issues, email me at litkowsk@gmail.com and we will get you back in business. Hopefully the new format makes this even more fun for everyone**
Feeling fired up to talk my shit via the sharing of links!
Last week, Silicon Valley Bank, "tHe FiNanCiAl pArTneR of THe iNNoVaTioN eConoMy," had a major oopsie, potentially because of one (1) gay person, causing lots of the worst people to panic. But these brilliant entrepreuners were able to cry loud enough for Fed Mommy Yellen to wipe their poopy little butts, in a move some (me) might consider deeply hypocritical considering the group's strong distate for Marxist social programs like Medicare and public transit. A few highlights - SVB employees recieving bonuses hours before the meltdown (presumably for a job well-done lol), McKinsey alum tech CEOs cosplaying middle class on Twitter to drum up sympathy and then admonishing the unwashed masses for enjoying the "finding out" part of their "fucking around" a little too much for their liking. TLDR: rich people destroy something they worked hard to deregulate and the US government jumps into action, coming together and reaching across the aisle, to make sure they stay rich.
More finance stuff!! But this time it's Shaq hiding in his house to avoid being served papers for schilling worthless crypto. Just kind of baseline funny and very evocative of this perfect Shaq moment. Larry David, who is also named, is NOT hiding and hopefully using this scandal as material for next season of Curb.
It's award show season baby, and the topic on everyone's mind is, "what happened to that 'soy bomb' guy who interrupted Bob Dylan during the '98 Grammys?" Well, he did an interview and helped demystify the legendary stunt.
As a woman, I've heard plenty of birthing horror stories (none that eclipse the staggering beauty of a new life), but had never heard of a "molar pregnancy" before. Here, three women share their experiences. Worth the read for the very real snapshots of the US healthcare system.

Tunes to start the week with:
New Róisín Murphy track with DJ Koze! To be followed by an album! We're not worthy of such bouncy cool dance goodness.
