A little Monday love
Hi!
Thanks for opening this email.
Links to smash the patriarchy:
Separating art from the artist, after accusations of sexual assault. Jenn Pelly wrote about the bizarre Pinegrove controversy and its aftermath for the emo band during a #metoo moment.
A Twitter account of raccoon videos.
A really good fashion editorial, with lots of Nickelodeon nostalgia.
A little self help!
Tunes to start the week with:
I began to compile a feminist rock playlist, and came across Lizzy Mercier Descloux. She was an artist at the forefront of the French punk scene, kind of like a Parisian Patti Smith. Her no-wave, minimal music relies heavily on collaborations with African musicians. She sounds surprisingly relevant today, especially on my fave, “Slipped Disc.” “Fire” is awesome too. She was a total badass!
