Other thoughts about music in 2021:
I wish I was interesting enough to enjoy the new Tirzah, but it was too sparse for me to think much about it. But if you are looking for delicate, minimal vibes, Colourgrade is for you.
Taylor Swift (in general). I’m having a lot of fun with her re-releases! It’s a true credit to her songwriting that what originally was a generic nu-country power ballad, is now a sprawling, obsessive epic (sorry, Jake Gyllenhaal). My favorite “Taylor’s Version” has been the “Wildest Dreams” re-release, a comparatively restrained take, that has me very excited for the “versions” yet to come.
