Hi!
Thanks for opening this email / reading this post.
March coming in like the msot obnoxious lion of all time.
Five years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic! Glad we all got to learn “the economy” is more valuable than human life, while also finding out which people don’t give a fuck about anyone but themselves. I hope Tim got his Halloween stuff and this woman’s dye job looks a little fresher.
Even outer space knows we’re in a flop era.
Your Alexa is about to start squealing like a PIG.
Why didn’t Columbia protect Mahmoud Khalil? His boss, a former (?) IDF spy, with close ties to Hilary Clinton and Madeline Albright (the two girlbosses of the apocalypse), says that actually, she’s the one that needs protected.
What am I doing to balance all the bad? Hanging out with friends! It is honest-to-God a balm for the soul. I’m texting with a younger friend embroiled in light-weight drama and giving her bad advice. I’m working at a coffeeshop with a new friend I’m intimidated by and getting a lot done. I’m visiting friends who just had babies and are in little bubbles of coziness, optimism and bodily fluid. I’m lifting weights twice a week simply to be around the sweet angels at my gym. Because, at the end of the day, that’s what it’s really about - vibing with people you love. If you are also pro-friendship, and looking for more ways to incorporate it into your life, I loved this cutie piece with different ideas for friend dates, beyond the usual eating or drinking.
Tunes to start the week with:
Loving this Saya Grey album. She’s got shades of a chilled-out Chappell Roan, cute and kind of country, but also fka Twigs or Tirzah, in her more experimental tracks. Her Tiny Desk Concert is a lot of fun, too.
and a poem!
My Pitch For Shark Tank Sharks, have I got an idea for you. I’m going to make everything much worse. Imagine - something that solves the problems you don’t have and looks like shit. Round the edges and dull the color not black or white but something more boring. Greige, the shade of dead worms, Not shiny industrial steel, but, a texture less glamorous or sleek, like sludge. Actually, it’s shark-like, in nature. Unstoppable forward momentum, rest = death. Nothingness behind glassy black eyes. My product will change humanity, the way we live. It will touch every plane and crevice, blot out bright spots where joy hides. I’m offering a first look, a stake in something that will grant you a marginal amount of power in your short lifetime. It’s the future. xx
