Good Day Sunshine
Hi!
Thanks for opening this email.

It's the werk week. Have some links:
Don't forget your sunscreen.
What a perfect specimen.
Hopefully you have been inundated and thoroughly horrified by the news of the past few weeks. If not, here's a good roundup. Also, parents in detention centers sleep with their legs wrapped around their kids.

Tunes to start your week with:
LGBTQ musicians for Pride - gay music is good music!
Perfume Genius's No Shape is one of the best albums of 2017. Groovy and slow, over-the-top and loud, he makes some badass art pop. So badass, a remix album was recently released with tracks by cool, artsy folks like Laurel Halo and mmph.
Big Freedia defined a genre, Beyoncé sold it to everyone. Pay respect to the godmother of New Orleans bounce.
Patrick Haggerty was the first openly-gay country musician. His groundbreaking project, Lavender Country, was originally recorded in 1973 and rereleased in 2014.
Julien Baker's album Turn Out the Lights addresses the tension of being a gay Christian in the South. It's deeply personal, stripped down acoustic with several heartbreaking, beautiful moments.
...And pretty much any other music you listen to is co-opting gay culture! Happy listening :)
